I am working on the crosstalk between the immune and the central nervous system. I was trained in neurobiology and immunology (converging to neuroimmunology) by Prof. R. Nitsch at the University Hospital Charite, Berlin, Dr. P. Matzinger at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Prof. M. Schwartz at the Weitzmann Institute Rehovot, Prof. G. Kempermann at the Max-Dellbrück-Center Berlin, Prof. R. Sapolsky and Prof. T. Palmer both at Stanford University, Stanford.

For the past 5 years the focus of my research lies in the field of neurogenesis. In my current project I investigate the impact of maternal viral infection on neurogenesis in the offspring.

Current position
